SUMMARY & BACKGROUND

Scope of Work: The Family Law Resource Section of the JRC is designed to primarily to assist low to moderate income individuals who ordinarily could not afford an attorney. The development and delivery of a senior services legal consultation program of the Fulton County Courts Justice Resource Center (JRC). The Senior Services component will function in a similar way to the Family Law component in which assistance and information would be provided to seniors (age 60 and over) who wish to educate themselves on legal issues underlying the elder population, such as Wills and Probate (Estate Planning and Guardianship), Landlord and Tenant issues (evictions), Federal and State benefits (Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security), Fraud and Elder Abuse, and Grandparents Rights. As with the family law consultation sessions, the senior services consultation component would not involve representation.
