Request approval to renew an existing contract - Department of Public Works, 25ITB1420569A-ST, Sewer Line Chemical Root Control Services in the amount not to exceed $350,000.00 with Duke’s Root Controls, Inc. (Syracuse, NY), to provide sewer line chemical root control services. This action exercises the first of two renewal options. One renewal option remains. Effective dates: January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2027.

In accordance with Purchasing Code Section 102-394(6), the Purchasing Department shall present all renewal requests to the Board of Commissioners at least 90 days prior to the contract renewal date, 60 days if the contract term is six (6) months or less.

Summary & Background: The Department of Public Works requests renewal of an existing contract with Duke’s Root Control, Inc. to provide sewer line chemical root control services.
Scope of Work: This contract will provide sewer system chemical root services for the County’s North and South Fulton sanitary sewer areas. This contract allows for the safe removal of roots that have made their way into the sewer pipes. When roots enter the sanitary sewer lines, they often cause blockages and sewer overflow spills. This contract will establish a baseline for a key performance indicator that measures the number of miles of sewer pipeline treated to control root intrusion within the division.
