Summary & Background

The August 4, 2021 Soundings request is submitted for your review and approval.  Below is a brief summary of each request and related justification.

 

Strategic Priority Area: OPEN AND RESPONSIBLE GOVERNMENT

 

                     Modify the 2021 Annual Hardware and Software Maintenance and Support List -

(PAGE 3)

 

 

The BOC approval is requested to modify the Annual Hardware and Software Maintenance List (AML) approved as part of the FY2021 Adopted Budget.  The requested changes will be funded within the existing department’s budget and will not result in any budget adjustments. 

 

Three departments are requesting changes at this time; County Auditor, Fulton County Public Library, and Information and Technology.

 

The Office of the County Auditor request an increase in spending authority for the vendor CaseWare IDEA Inc., (line 265), by $300, due to the annual increase cost of the software upgrade. No additional funding is being requested. 

 

The Fulton County Public Library request an increase in spending authority by $15,500 with the vendor Bibliocommons, Inc., (line 111), for catalog   public access services. The prepayment of these services will provide a cost discount of 23% to the county over the next few years.  No additional funding is being requested.

 

The Information Technology department requests a vendor name change and an increase in spending authority by $2,725. Approved software company Jscape, (line 239), was acquired by ActivMFT which resulted in an increase in the annual contract cost.  No additional funding is being requested.

Increase the FY2021 Budget for Arts and Culture - $123,267

 

The Board of Commissioners approved on July 14th, agenda item #21-0533, contracts with the Hammonds House Museum and the National Black Arts Festival to provide expanded operational resources, educational and arts related services to the citizens of Fulton county. The BOC also approved to amend contracts for the Legacy Arts program and increased funding for the Hammonds House Museum, National Black Arts Festival, and the Johns Creek Community Arts Center.

 

The department was approved to use salary savings toward the amended cost, the remaining $123,267 allocation for 2021 will be funded from the Non-Agency contingency reserve for soundings.
