Summary & Background: This Statewide contract provides fuel dispensing via WEX cards for County vehicles that are required to operate outside of Metro Atlanta, or for County vehicle users that are routinely outside a 10-mile radius of County-owned fuel sites. Departmental fleet/fuel coordinators are required to review all WEX expenditures each month and costs are covered by each user agency’s operating budget. The current term of SWC#99999-001-SPD0000112-0001, Fuel Card Management Services ends September 30, 2026, so DREAM is requesting a term that coincides with the underlying contract and also ends September 30, 2026.
Scope of Work: WEX fuel cards are Visa-badged fuel cards that allow users to purchase fuel at any retail location through the Metro Atlanta area. Ninety-five (95) percent of WEX card users are Law Enforcement Officers and senior County officials.
Benefits of using this SWC are:
• No account set-up fee
• No monthly card fees
• Approximately 1-2% discount on average retail fuel costs.
• No fee for replacement cards
• Access to Strategic Card Support for special customer service
• Early payment rebate ranges from 0.10% to 0.13%
Community Impact: None that the Department is aware.
Department Recommendation: The Department of Real Estate and Asset Management recommends approval.
This contract is managed by the Department of Real Estate and Asset Management’s Fleet Division.
Project Implications: This contract is critical component of providing continuity of operations for County law enforcement agencies as well as ensuring County staff have access to fuel when traveling outside of a 10-mile radius of County-owned fuel sites.
Community Issues/Concerns: None that the Department is aware.
Department Issues/Concerns: If this Statewide Contract is not approved, the Department will not be able to provide fuel dispensing services to the County fleet vehicles operating outside of a 10-mile radius of County owned fueling sites for FY2026.
