Summary & Background (First sentence includes Agency recommendation. Provide an executive summary of the action that gives an overview of the relevant details for the item.)

Scope of Work: Fulton County is the fee simple owner of the real property located at 470 Morgan Falls Road, Sandy Springs, Georgia.  Keep North Fulton Beautiful, a Fulton County ground lease tenant at the Sandy Springs Recycle Center, has submitted a request to the Fulton County Department of Real Estate and Asset Management (“DREAM”) to grant a utility easement to Georgia Power Company for the purpose of relocating an onsite utility service pole in order to increase the height of the utility service lines to prevent sanitation trucks from colliding into the lines when entering and leaving the recycle center.  Georgia Power Company requires an Underground Easement from the fee simple owner of the underlying real property before relocating their service pole pursuant to the request by Keep North Fulton Beautiful.

Community Impact: Planned relocation of the utility service pole at the Sandy Springs Recycle Center will improve onsite safety and is consistent with the Fulton County initiative that all people trust government is efficient, effective and fiscally sound.

Department Recommendation: :  The Department of Real Estate and Asset Management recommends approval of the Underground Easement Agreement between Fulton County and Georgia Power Company for the purpose of relocating an onsite utility service pole and increasing the height of service lines

Project Implications: Approval of the requested Underground Easement is a proactive safety initiative that will remove an onsite hazard and improve efficiency levels at the Sandy Springs Recycle Center.
