Request approval to renew an existing contract - Department of Real Estate and Asset Management, 23ITB13887CJNJ, Towing and Wrecker Services for County Fleet in the amount not exceed $60,000.00, with CSS Transportation LLC (Smyrna, GA), to provide towing and wrecker services for the County fleet. This action exercises the first of two renewal options. One renewal option remains. Effective dates: January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025. (APPROVED UPON ADOPTION OF THE CONSENT AGENDA)

Requirement for Board Action
In accordance with Purchasing Code Section 102-394(6), the Purchasing Department shall present all renewal requests to the Board of Commissioners at least 90 days prior to the contract renewal date, or 60 days if the contract term is six (6) months or less.

Summary & Background: This contract will provide towing services, tire changing, lockout assistance and battery charging/starting services to the County’s fleet 24 hours a day, 7 days per week to include the surrounding Metropolitan Atlanta area.
Scope of Work: The category of vehicles are as follows:
• Light-duty tow truck with the capacity to tow a vehicle with a combined gross vehicle weight of 14,000 pounds or less.
• Medium-duty tow truck with the capacity to tow a vehicle with a combined gross vehicle weight of 10,001 to 25,999 pounds or less.
• Heavy-duty tow truck with the capacity to tow a vehicle with a combined gross vehicle weight of 26,000 pounds or heavier.
Community Impact: None of which the Department is aware.
Department Recommendation: The Department of Real Estate and Asset Management recommends approval.
The requested spending authority in the total amount of $60,000.00 is sufficient to cover the costs for towing and wrecker services for Fulton County fleet for FY2025.
Project Implications: This contract requires specialty tools, equipment, training, and skills. Towing and wrecker services for County fleet will not be performed in a timely or cost-effective manner if this contract is not approved.
Community Issues/Concerns: None of which the Department is aware.
Department Issues/Concerns: If this renewal contract is not approved, the Department cannot provide towing and wrecker services for County fleet vehicles.
