Title: Request approval of an MOU in the amount of $227,116.00 for fiscal year 2026 between the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension and the Fulton County Board of Commissioners to continue to provide research-based education in the areas of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H and Youth Development to Fulton County citizens; and to delineate the obligations and responsibilities of the parties with respect to the shared information technology and the UGA and Fulton County employees assigned as Extension personnel. This MOU will be in substantial form of the MOU effective from 2020 through 2025 and will be effective for an initial five-year term ending December 31, 2030, with options to renew for nine additional five-year terms, and Addendum E will be updated annually to reflect and obtain BOC approval on employee salaries and related obligations.

Recommend approval of the request to enter an MOU in the amount of $227,116 between the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension and the Fulton County Board of Commissioners to continue to provide research-based education in the areas of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H and Youth Development to Fulton County citizens. This working relationship has been in place for many years with five-year agreements without renewals provided. This presentation of the full MOU will re-establish the complete agreement and contemplate renewals. Due to this posture, certain details regarding the nomenclature and wording in the MOU are being negotiated by the parties. However, the material terms are not in dispute and the contract will not be modified materially from the form of the 2020 - 2025 agreement provided here for review unless approved by the BOC in a subsequent action.

 

Scope of Work: To provide research-based education in the areas of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H and Youth Development to Fulton County citizens

 

Community Impact: Will enable Cooperative Extension to maintain its current level of education services located at the North Fulton Service Center, East Point, Atlanta History Center, and Camp Truitt/4-H Center.

 

Department Recommendation: To approve the contract in the amount of $227,116
