Summary & Background: The Department of Registration and Elections recommends approval of statewide contract to provide rental of box trucks, passenger vehicles and cargo vans for the November Municipal Election and December Runoff.
The current statewide contract expires on 9/8/2023, the Chief Purchasing confirmed with the State of Georgia Department of Administrative Services that this contract will extended through 9/8/2024 and utilization of this agreement is contingent upon the extension.
Scope of Work: The statewide contract will provide rental of cargo vans and box trucks to transport voting equipment for delivery and pickup during early voting and election days for above-mentioned scheduled elections.
Community Impact: There may be a negative effect on the community, if transporting voting equipment for delivery and pickup during early voting and election day for the above-mentioned scheduled elections are delayed.
Department Recommendation: The Department of Registration and Elections recommends approval.
Project Implications: The approval of this statewide contract for the rental of cargo vans and box trucks to transport voting equipment for delivery and pickup will ensure the Department to ensure equipment are delivered and picked up in a timely manner.
Community Issues/Concerns: Staff is not aware of any community issue / concerns.
