Summary & Background: Georgia law requires the County to adhere to all EPA, OSHA, and County regulations associated with hazardous waste disposal.

Scope of Work: The Scope of Work includes, but not limited to:

  • The contractor shall provide removal and disposal of hazardous waste materials from Fulton County designated facilities, on an “if and when needed” basis twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week.

  • Contractor must provide labor and material to load, remove, and dispose of hazardous waste material in EPA/OSHA specified containers. The contractor shall be required to supply the container required for various material at designated locations.

  • The contractor is responsible for arranging equipment, transportation, disposal of the waste material and manifestation of all transactions in a manner approved by the County.

Community Impact: None that the Department is aware of.

Department Recommendation: The Department of Real Estate and Asset Management recommends approval.

The requested total spending authority is an increase of $20,000 over the FY 2025 contract amount due to the County not having a contract in place during 2024.  This resulted in an excessive amount of material requiring hazardous waste disposal.  This contract will be for a full 12 months in 2026.

Project Implications: This service is critical for hazardous waste disposal services for Countywide agencies.

Community Issues/Concerns: None that the Department is aware of.

Department Issues/Concerns: If this renewal contract is not approved, the County will not be able to provide hazardous waste disposal services.
