On December 18, 2024, the Board of Commissioners approved item # 24-0882 to enter into CDBG contract with the City of Alpharetta ($110,000) to be used for ADA parking improvements at the Alpharetta Adult Activity Center located at 13450 Cogburn Road, Alpharetta, Georgia 30004.

 

The CDBG contract must be amended to conform to the January 21, 2025, revocation of Executive Order 11246 by Executive Order 14173.

 

Scope of Work: The ADA Parking Improvements at Alpharetta Adult Activity Center project entails the expansion of ADA-accessible parking capacity, for handicap barrier removal, as well as improvement of ADA accessibility facilities and accouterments, and the barrier removal and rehabilitation of parking facilities. The Alpharetta Adult Activity Center is a facility providing recreation, socialization, and educational programming for senior adults (50+ years of age) in Alpharetta and adjacent North Fulton Communities.

Community Impact: The Department of Community Development can continue to support low-to-moderate-income citizens with CDBG funds and meet HUD CDBG expenditure requirements. 

 

Department Recommendation: Approve the requested action. 

 

Project Implications: The contract allows needed ADA modifications to improve accessibility to the Alpharetta Adult Activity Center for senior adults.
