Scope of Work: The is the continuation of the pipe replacement project for the Pine Valley main sewer trunk line. The Department of Public Works has identified 4200 feet of corroded sewer line that needs to be replaced. This purchase is for the pipe only. A contract bid will be advertised for a contractor to install.

 

Community Impact: Pipe needs to be replaced. If not, the pipe will fail resulting in large scale negative environmental impact to community.

 

Department Recommendation: The Department of Public Works recommends approval.

 

Project Implications: This section of Pine Valley sewer pipe is severely corroded. If not replaced, the pipe will fail resulting in large sewer spills contaminating rivers and streams and wildlife. County will also be subjected to large fines from EPD.
