Summary & Background (First sentence includes Agency recommendation. Provide an executive summary of the action that gives an overview of the relevant details for the item.)

Scope of Work: Atlanta Gas Light Company (“AGL”) has submitted a request to the Department of Real Estate and Asset Management and the Department of Public Works for a replacement access easement at the Fulton County Executive Airport. The easement is needed as part of AGL’s infrastructure improvement initiative to install roskote coated lines to provide additional protection against corrosion which will increase the economic life span, and utility of its service lines.

Before relocating and installing roskote coated natural gas service lines, AGL’s regulations require that all new utility service line connections formally acknowledge their access rights within the specific area(s) in which their natural gas services lines are installed. The easement area to be conveyed is in Land Lots 22 and 53 of the 14th FF District of Fulton County, Georgia.

Community Impact: Approval of the Easement Agreement and related documents will ensure the stability and reliability of AGL’s utility infrastructure, reducing the likelihood of repairs to service lines and potential hazards to residents and businesses within this area.

Department Recommendation: The Department of Real Estate and Asset Management and the Department of Public Works recommends approval of an Easement Agreement between Fulton County and the AGL for the purpose of completing planned upgrades to their gas service lines at the Fulton County Executive Airport - Charlie Brown Field.

Project Implications: AGL’s proposed project will assist with their initiative to update and replace its infrastructure for the purpose of maintaining optimum efficiency and safety.
