Scope of Work: This project is Phase II of a three-phase program to renovate the currently closed ARFF station in order to allow for ARFF personnel & equipment, and airport administrative offices. Phase I was previously approved by the BOC on 8/21/19 for $182,523 and completed, which included the demolition of the ARFF station interior and reinforcement of the building structure to accommodate the renovations for Phases II and III.
There will be limited demolition to the existing structure to allow for the new renovation and additions. The demolition generally consists of removal of all the exterior windows and doors, partial demolition of existing load-bearing walls and exterior walls and the removal of the roof structure over the apparatus bays of the lower level. The entire upper floor will be renovated and portion of the lower level will require construction as part of the new work on the upper level. New additions will be constructed over the existing lower level. The renovations will consist of administrative offices, rest rooms, lobby area, office/copy/filing room, reception area, storage closets, electrical and mechanical rooms.
This project is in keeping with the approved Fulton County FY21 Budget, Capital Enhancements.
Below is a summary of the bid results. The apparent low bidder was unable to hold their bid prices until BOC approval of the contract and withdrew their bid, therefore the apparent low bidder is Trident Construction Group.
