Summary & Background: Request Change Order to modify the existing Scope of Work to provide additional exterior entrance signage, monument signs and plaques to the Fulton County Government Center/Public Safety Building Complex.
Scope of Work: The Sign Fabrication Firm (DeNyse) will perform the additional services to existing Scope of Work to incorporate the additional exterior entrance signage, monument signs and plaques to the Fulton County Government Center Complex located at 141 Pryor Street & 130 Peachtree Street, SW Atlanta, GA 30303. In addition, it will address new signage for the Government Center Top and Ground Level Floors of the Assembly Hall. This change order is necessary to address the required additions to the existing Wayfinding Design scope of work. We are entering the final stages of the initial Wayfinding Static Signage and Services to provide manufacturing and installation of new identification and directional wayfinding signage in four (4) designed Fulton County Court facilities: Justice Center Tower, Lewis B. Slaton Courthouse, Charles L. Carnes Building and Romae T. Powell Juvenile Justice Center; and the corporation of Fulton County Identification Building Signage to the northbound side of Pryor Street Bridge. This change order will continue enhancements in Wayfinding to the Government Center and Public Safety Building necessary to identify the Exterior of these Buildings, as well as signage added to the Assembly Hall Top and Ground Floors. Based upon observation and feedback, the initial plan significantly improved our Constituents' ability to reach his/her destination in the Courts and accomplish his/her transaction needs in an efficient and effective manner. The County has recognized the need to make specific improvements to the Exterior of the Government Center/Public Safety Building, including adding Exterior Building Signage at the entrance into the Government Center/Public Safety Complex, and Assembly Hall areas, thus reducing location confusion experienced by our Constituents and customers.

Community Impact: This agenda item is necessary to improve the exterior location identification and visibility, for Constituents and Customers to easily identify the Government Center and Public Safety buildings, including entrances, monument signs and plaques in the Government Center Complex, as well provide improved signage for the Assembly Hall area, recently renovated.
Department Recommendation: The Department of Real Estate and Asset Management recommends approval of Change Order No. 2, modifying the existing Scope of Work, to provide additional exterior entrance signage, monument signs and plaques to the Fulton County Government Center/Public Safety Building Complex located at 141 Pryor Street & 130 Peachtree Street, SW Atlanta, GA 30303, as well as Assembly Hall signage on both the Ground and Top Floors. The Sign Fabrication Firm (DeNyse Companies, Inc.) will work in collaboration with the Department of Real Estate and Asset Management, Project Management Team. The estimated time to fabricate these signs and plaques is 5 to 7 weeks and installation to be 3 to 5 days without interruption, pending the receipt of Notice to Proceed and Purchase Order with lead time of materials and equipment.
Project Implications: Improved visibility to the public and customers to easily identify the building exterior entrances, monument signs and plaques in the Fulton County Government Center/Public Safety Building Complex, and enhance customer service in the Assembly Hall Area.
Community Issues/Concerns: None of which the Department is aware.
Department Issues/Concerns: If this Change Order is not approved, there may be a potential disruption in the ability for the County to provide additional Wayfinding Design and Signage Services for the Fulton County Government Center/Public Safety Building Complex.
