Summary & Background: The current Jury Assembly Room (located in the Justice Center Tower, 185 Central Avenue SW, Suite #T-7000, Atlanta, GA 30303) is a highly utilized area in which potential jurors must assemble while awaiting potential selection for trials.  The seating in this room was first installed in 2018 and, due to the high daily volume of jurors, has become both structurally and aesthetically worn. This request is needed to replace the damaged and worn Jury Assembly Room seating and includes removal of the existing seating.

The request includes a 10% owner-controlled contingency as part of the total furniture and equipment cost per the Cooperative Contractor’s proposal to cover any unforeseen or additional expenditures that may arise during the installation phase of this project.

Community Impact: The community impact will be to minimize inconvenience and improve overall safety and comfort of County jurors.

Department Recommendation: The Department of Real Estate and Asset Management recommends approval.

Project Implications: The new replacement seating will provide safe accommodation in support of the Fulton County Superior and State Courts juror operations.

Community Issues/Concerns: None that the Department is aware.

Department Issues/Concerns: Completion of the purchase and installation of the new replacement Superior and State Courts juror operations seating will provide safe accommodation for the public, other agencies, and Fulton County employees required to utilize the area.

Contract Modification: This is a new request.
