The June 3rd, 2026 Soundings request is submitted for your review and approval. Below is a brief summary of each request and the related justification.

GENERAL FUND: Strategic Priority Area: Health and Human Services and Open and Responsible

 

                     Amend the Department of Community Development and Non-Agency budgets - (Page 3)

 

Funding is requested pursuant to the approval of Item 26-0255 - approved by BOC on May 6, 2026 identifying $250,000 to support the Summer Youth Internship Program. The funding for this amendment will be a transfer from various lines in the Non-Agency department to the Department of Community Development in the amount of $250,000.

 

GENERAL FUND: Strategic Priority Area: Justice and Safety

 

                     Amend the Superior Court Administration and Magistrate Court’s budgets - (Page 3)

 

The BOC approval is requested pursuant to the approval of Item 26-0292 - approved by BOC on May 20, 2026 redirecting funds from the 2026 budget of Superior Court Administration to the Magistrate Court in the amount of the unobligated portion of the $780,000 previously transferred  based on Item 23-0967 - approved by the BOC on December 20, 2023 to support three full-time magistrates supporting the Superior Court's criminal caseload for each year.

 

The fiscal year 2026 unobligated portion is $549,143.34 and future fiscal years the $780,000 will be restored in the Magistrate Court's budget.

 

The request is to decrease Superior Court Administration’s budget and increase Magistrate Court’s budget by $549,143.34.
