The Medical Examiner’s Office desires to extend these agreements to avoid an interruption in operations, while the office works with Purchasing and HR to secure qualified individuals who can provide the necessary professional services to the ME’s Office.

The ME’s Office current accreditation status necessitates a reliance upon these part-time and intermittent services provided by the Independent Contractors to address peak workloads, unexpected emergencies, vacation coverage, service needs that are sporadic or unpredictable in nature, and to ensure compliance with the accrediting agency: National Association of Medical Examiners.
