Summary & Background (First sentence includes Agency recommendation. Provide an executive summary of the action that gives an overview of the relevant details for the item.)

Scope of Work: Fulton County is the fee simple owner of the real property located at 1838 Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, Atlanta, Georgia. Georgia Power Company has contacted the Department of Real Estate and Asset Management and requested the approval of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners to acquire a utility easement necessary to install service equipment improvements onsite.   If the Fulton County Board of Commissioners approves the grant of a utility easement to Georgia Power Company, a Three Phase Terminating Cabinet and a Pull Box will be installed adjacent to the right of way of Donald Lee Howell Parkway. Once installed, these items will improve service reliability and the grid infrastructure.

Community Impact: Georgia Power Company’s planned system improvements will have a positive impact for all residents within this community and is consistent with the County initiative that all people trust government is efficient, effective and fiscally sound.

Department Recommendation: The Department of Real Estate and Asset Management recommends granting an Underground Easement Agreement to Georgia Power Company for the purpose of installing onsite improvements at the Dogwood Branch Library.

Project Implications: Proposed equipment upgrades include the relocation of overhead power delivery lines on the Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway that will be moved underground so they are less prone to damage caused by fallen trees, vehicles and power outages caused by storms.
