Summary & Background: The Department of Senior Services recommends approval.
Scope of Work: The Department of Senior Services will use the temporary staffing services to staff Multipurpose Facilities including Instructors, lifeguards, social service coordinators and administrative positions for FY 2023 for a six month period.
Community Impact: A quicker response time in filling specialty positions, such as, fitness, aquatic, and computer instructors; availability of temporary placements for full-time positions during recruitment, extended illness, or other extended leave. The vendor can backfill vacancies within 24-hours. The vendor performs pre-employment testing requirements, background screening and drug screens in accordance with the County policies (The related cost are included in the fee.) The vendor performs reference checks (personal and business).
Department Recommendation: The Department of Senior Services recommends approval of this item.
Project Implications: Approval of this contract will allow the Department to staff lifeguards and land and water, art and computer instructors at the County’s Multipurpose Facilities. This project and authority will be monitored as well should additional positions be required to support programming. Previously, temporary staffers have been recruited through this vendor and converted to a permanent, full-time Fulton County position (Social Services Coordinator)
Community Issues/Concerns: There are no community issues or concerns regarding this action.
Department Issues/Concerns: Filling positions requested by the user department such as: Lifeguards, Land & Water Instructors, Art Instructors and Computer Instructors that are not considered to be Administrative Support is a challenge and can sometimes take a significant amount of time to recruit and fill. The contractor has informed the Department of their recruitment challenges and continues to diligently work to accommodate recruitment requests.
