Scope of Work: Scope of Work:  Georgia Power Company has requested through Fulton County’s Department of Real Estate and Asset Management (DREAM), that Fulton County convey six (6) Underground Easements for the purpose of completing planned infrastructure equipment upgrades to their electrical systems along Fulton Industrial Boulevard and Sandy Creek Road.
Georgia Power Company is investing in a new power delivery infrastructure over the next three years to enhance service and reliability in communities across Georgia. The initial phase of its multi-year grid investment plan will strengthen the reliability and resiliency of their electrical system and power grid within this section of Fulton County. The approval of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners is required to convey a real property interest in any County-owned real property.
    

 

Community Impact: Georgia Power Company’s planned infrastructure equipment improvements focus on upgrading transmission and distribution infrastructure across the power grid and is aimed at decreasing the number and length of power outages experienced by customers. Grid investments include making power lines more durable and resilient, so they are less susceptible to weather-related outages.

 

Department Recommendation: The Department of Real Estate and Asset Management recommends approval of the conveyance of six Underground Easements between Fulton County and the Georgia Power Company for the purpose of completing planned infrastructure equipment improvements on the Fulton Industrial Boulevard roadway and expansion of services along Sandy Creek Road. 

 

Project Implications: Proposed equipment upgrades includes relocation of overhead power delivery lines on the Fulton Industrial Boulevard roadway that will be moved underground so they are less prone to damage caused by trees and vehicles and the installation of electrical services lines along Sandy Creek Road.
