Pursuant to Fulton County Code § 1-117, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners has exclusive jurisdiction and control over directing and controlling all the property of the County, as they may deem expedient, according to law.

Summary & Background

 

Scope of Work: The Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Family & Children Services, has requested the Fulton County Board of Commissioners’ permission to use County-owned real property located at 515 Fairburn Road, Atlanta, Georgia, as the location for its 2025 toy distribution for economically disadvantaged children and families. The facility was previously leased to the State Properties Commission and is currently vacant, pending repurpose by the Department of Real Estate and Asset Management.

 

Approval of the Board of Commissioners is requested to formalize the rental terms of the License Agreement.

 

Community Impact: The approval of this agenda item will not have any impact on the residents of this community and will provide easy access for County residents requiring economic assistance and assistance purchasing toys for their children during the holiday season.

 

Department Recommendation: The Department of Real Estate and Asset Management recommends approval of the resolution to enter into a License Agreement with the Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Family & Children Services, for the purpose of granting access to County-owned real property located at 515 Fairburn Road, Atlanta, Georgia through December 31, 2025.

 

Project Implications: The Fulton County Board of Commissioners’ approval of the resolution to execute a License Agreement with the Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Family & Children Services will allow a state social service agency to temporarily provide community services from a County-owned facility during the holiday season.
