Request approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between Fulton County and Coweta County for the purposes of Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD-to-CAD) connectivity between the two Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) agencies. Effective upon BOC approval until December 31, 2027 and will be automatically renewed for up to four (4) successive five (5) year terms not to exceed a period of 25 years. Request approval to enter into Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with Coweta County, a political subdivision of the State of Georgia. The municipal boundaries for the City of Palmetto are located in portions of Coweta and Fulton counties, whereas Fulton County, through its Department of Emergency Services, provides 911 emergency communications for the City of Palmetto.
Fulton County and Coweta County will both maintain and operate a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for the purposes of 911 and emergency communications throughout their respective jurisdictions.
In accordance with Coweta’s Service Delivery Strategy, Coweta Fire Rescue provides pre-hospital emergency medical services within the portion of the City of Palmetto that lies in Coweta County. Fulton and Coweta counties have each separately contracted with a Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) software vendor, CentralSquare. It is desirable to have a seamless CAD-to-CAD product to further the goal of protecting the health, safety and welfare of the public for Fulton and Coweta counties.
Coweta County will serve as the primary PSAP for EMS calls for service within the Coweta County portion of the City of Palmetto. Fulton County will serve as the primary PSAP for all calls for service within the Fulton County portion of the City of Palmetto. Coweta and Fulton counties, through their respective 911 departments, shall each collaborate to implement and monitor activities for the handling of emergency 911 dispatch services in the City of Palmetto.
