Summary & Background The Department of Senior Services uses the temporary staffing services to staff Multipurpose Facilities with Instructors, Lifeguards, Social and Administrative Support personnel.
Scope of Work: The temporary staffing agency provides a quicker response time in filling specialty positions, such as fitness, aquatic, and computer instructors. The agency provides staff for temporary placements for full-time positions during recruitment, extended illness, or other extended leave of full-time senior facility staff. The agency performs pre-employment testing requirements, background screening and drug screens in accordance with the County policies and reference checks (i.e., personal and business).
Community Impact: The spending authority request will prevent a disruption of staffing support to ensure life-enrichment activities, educational classes and administrative support based on Senior Multipurpose Facilities re-opening strategy.
Department Recommendation: The Department of Senior Services recommends approval of this item.
Project Implications: Fulton County’s senior population continues to grow in tandem with the projected growth of seniors nationally. It is estimated by 2030, 20% of the US population will be seniors. This project supports population growth resulting in an increase in program participation and class attendance.
Community Issues/Concerns: The increased demand for virtual programming, nutrition and transportation services requires Senior Services to maintain flexible staffing patterns and addresses community concerns.
Department Issues/Concerns: Recruitment of full-time permanent staff is not always feasible. This Department concern is addressed through the temporary staffing contract.
