Summary & Background (First sentence includes Agency recommendation. Provide an executive summary of the action that gives an overview of the relevant details for the item.)

Scope of Work: The Statewide Mutual Aid and Assistance Agreement provides for mutual assistance between participating jurisdictions in managing any emergency or disaster when the emergency or disaster exceeds the resources available within the participating jurisdiction. Participating in the agreement ensures timely provision of mutual aid and reimbursement of costs incurred by local governments. This agreement covers all County assets (law enforcement, fire, public works, etc.)

Community Impact: Participation in the agreement ensures that Fulton County Emergency Management can meet the responsibilities to facilitate coordination of efficient emergency response as well as preparation for natural or man-made disasters.

Department Recommendation: The department recommends Board of Commissioners authorization for the County Manager to execute the statewide agreement.

Project Implications: This agreement does not present any fiscal impact to Fulton County and provides an avenue for obtaining reimbursement for expense should Fulton County provide any mutual aid assistance covered under the agreement.
