Summary & Background
Scope of Work: The Department of Real Estate and Asset Management (DREAM) is requesting approval from the Fulton County Board of Commissioners to execute a First Amendment to Lease Agreement with Quality Living Services, Inc. (QLS) to extend their occupancy and senior services operations for a period of ten (10) years, inclusive of renewal periods at 4001 Danforth Drive, Atlanta, Georgia (QLS Multi-Purpose Senior Center).
The Fulton County Department of Real Estate and Asset Management (DREAM) and Quality Living Services, Inc. (QLS) have negotiated mutually acceptable lease terms that will allow QLS to remain at this centralized and easily accessible location within the southwest Atlanta community. Unless extended, the current lease agreement will expire on December 31, 2026.
In accordance with Fulton County policy, any amendment to the terms and conditions of a contractual agreement involving Fulton County requires prior approval of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners.
Community Impact: Multipurpose senior center facilities are an important community need and a worthwhile investment in the well-being and quality of life of older adults. Approval of the First Amendment to Lease Agreement will allow QLS Services to remain at their current location and provide senior services.
Department Recommendation: The Department of Real Estate and Asset Management recommends approval of the Lease Agreement for the purpose of extending the lease term for Quality Living Service Inc.
Project Implications: A dedicated, accessible senior services facility provides a safe and welcoming environment where seniors can participate in social, recreational, educational, health, and wellness activities. Multipurpose senior centers also play an important role in reducing social isolation, promoting active and healthy aging, and connecting older adults with valuable community resources and services.
