Summary & Background: The Graham Drive Pump Station is a critical asset to the South Fulton collection system. It conveys sanitary sewer flows to our Camp Creek WRF that originates in Union City, Palmetto, and South Fulton. This pump station serves all areas South of I-85 and I-285 that are within South Fulton County. The South Fulton Capacity Study identified this facility as requiring upgrades in order to maintain the expected levels of service through the year 2050.
Scope of Work: The Graham Drive Pump Station Upgrades will consist of a new flow meter, new storm drainage improvements, new odor control, replacement of existing pumps, valve, gates, and sump pump, switch gear, transformer, and generator replacement, building modifications, roof replacement, electrical upgrades and other improvements to meet current and near future needs. Current capacity of the station will increase, via execution of this project, from 17.5MGD to 30MGD. The pump station will remain in service thru all phases of the upgrade. Bypass pumping and other measures will be part of the work included.
Community Impact: This upgrade will provide the required infrastructure to support the continued growth of the communities which belong to the Graham Drive PS service area.
Department Recommendation: The Public Works Department recommends approval of this item.
Project Implications: The proposed upgrades under this item will allow the Graham Drive Pump Station to meet the level of service expectations as outlined within the South Fulton Capacity Study. Failure to approve this item would compromise the County’s ability to support the anticipated growth within the South Fulton service area.
Community Issues/Concerns: No community issues or concerns have been noted.
Department Issues/Concerns: The Public Works Department has not identified any issues/concerns of note.
Contract Modification: This is a new procurement.
