Request to approve the recommendation of the Fulton County Library System to receive a donated exhibition by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (“SITES”) entitled “The Bias Inside Us.” The exhibition will be displayed between August 26, 2023 to September 24, 2023 at the Central Library Branch. SITES will pay all associated costs for the exhibition. (APPROVED UPON ADOPTION OF THE CONSENT AGENDA)

Summary & Background
The Bias Inside Us is a community engagement project featuring a 1,000 sq. ft. Smithsonian traveling exhibition, the centerpiece for local programs and activities that raise awareness about the science and history of bias and what we (all) can do about it. The exhibition is free of charge and is expected to help people understand and counter their implicit biases, build capacity in communities to convene dialogue that will increase empathy, and inspire more inclusive schools, communities, and workplaces.
Scope of Work: The exhibition will be installed by SITES, at no cost to the County, at the Central Library and will be on display for 28 days (August 26, 2023 - September 24, 2023). Additional programming will be held in conjunction with the display to enhance the experience of the exhibition. Once the exhibition has concluded, SITES will also be responsible for the deinstallation and removal of the exhibit.
