Summary & Background: The Department of Registration and Elections requests approval to increase spending authority under a statewide contract to provide rental of box trucks, passenger vehicles and cargo vans for the November General, Nonpartisan General and Special Election and December General, Nonpartisan General and Special Election Runoff, if necessary. This request for the spending authority increase is necessary because the initial rates provided did not include the vehicle license fees and therefore the monthly rates that the County is being invoiced must be included

 

Scope of Work: The increase in spending authority under this statewide contract will provide for the rental of vehicles to transport voting equipment for delivery and pickup during early voting and election days for the above-mentioned scheduled elections.

 

Community Impact: Negative community impact may result if voting equipment delivery and pickup during early voting and on election days for the above-mentioned scheduled elections are not conducted timely.

 

Department Recommendation: The Department of Registration and Elections recommends approval.

 

Project Implications: The approval of statewide contract for the rental of cargo vans and box trucks to transport voting equipment for delivery and pickup will ensure that voting equipment is delivered and picked up in a timely manner.

 

Community Issues/Concerns: Department is not aware of any community issue / concerns.
