Request approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, by and on behalf of the University of Georgia, in an amount not to exceed $187,000.00, to provide the Certified Public Manager Program through the Carl Vinson Institute of Government. Effective July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022, with four 1-year automatic renewals. To protect the interests of the County, the County Attorney shall approve the intergovernmental agreement as to form and substance, and make any necessary modification, prior to execution by the Chairman. Scope of Work:
As the Department of Human Resources Management continues to push forward with its enhanced Human Resource Management agenda, with a focus on ensuring the County has a well-trained and engaged workforce, the Certified Public Managers Program continues to be an opportunity to reskill our executives and managers to efficiently and effectively address the strategic areas developed by the Board of Commissioners.
The Certified Public Management Program, offered by the University of Georgia -- under the umbrella of the National CPM Consortium, is designed to improve the quality and efficiency of government agencies by developing the effectiveness and professionalism of its managers.
Since being introduced to the County, the CPM Program has successfully advanced 233 County employees through the curriculum.
This is an intensive, multi-part program, where executives and managers will learn about themselves, their organization and how to lead and manage effectively and will be the cornerstone of the County's Executive Leadership Development Program and ensure that we have an engaged workforce, one which is focused on delivering excellent customer service.
The overall 5-year cost for this contract is $875,000, to be paid as follows -
- Year 1 (2021) $175,000
- Year 2 (2022) $175,000
- Year 3 (2023) $175,000
- Year 4 (2024) $175,000
- Year 5 (2025) $175,000
