Requirement for Board Action

In accordance with Purchasing Code Section 102-394(6), the Purchasing Department shall present all renewal requests to the Board of Commissioners at least 90 days prior to the contract renewal date or 60 days if the contract term is six (6) months or less.

Summary & Background: This is a time and material contract that furnishes all materials, parts, labor, equipment, and transportation necessary to provide on-site preventive generator system maintenance and repair services for Fulton County. This standby maintenance contract ensures availability of back-up power at thirty-one (31) facilities throughout Fulton County for FY2027.

 

Scope of Work includes but is not limited to the following:

 

1.                     The regular and systematic examination, adjustment, lubrication, replacement, and preventive maintenance of all components including automatic transfer switches.

2. All ordinary wear and tear regardless of cause, do not include internal engine parts.

3. All required tests and written reports.

4. Replacement or repairs caused by fluctuations in the main AC power systems.

5. Quarterly and Annual inspection services such as; fuel system, cooling system, lubrication system, combustion air intake system, engine system, electrical system, generator, and automatic transfer switches.

 

Community Impact: This contract ensures the continuity of critical service delivery in the event of an area electric utility outage. 

 

Department Recommendation: The Department of Real Estate and Asset Management recommends approval.

 

Project Implications: This maintenance contract ensures the consistent availability of emergency power at 31 County facilities.  

 

Community Issues/Concerns: None that the Department is aware.

 

Department Issues/Concerns: If this renewal contract is not approved, DREAM will not be able to ensure consistent delivery of emergency power in the event of electrical utility outages at thirty-one (31) facilities including the Government & Justice Centers, multiple Senior Centers, multiple Health Centers, and the North and South Service Centers.
