Summary & Background The April 12, 2023, Soundings request is submitted for your review and approval. Below is a brief summary of each request and related justification.
GENERAL FUND:
STRATEGIC PRIORITY AREA: OPEN AND RESPONSIBLE GOVERNMENT
• Modify the 2023 Annual Hardware and Software Maintenance and Support list - (PAGE 3)
The BOC approval is requested to modify the Annual Hardware and Software Maintenance List (AML) approved as part of the FY2023 Adopted Budget. The requested changes will be funded within the department’s existing budget and will not result in any budget adjustments.
Juvenile Court requests an increase in spending authority to AML item #245 to compensate for the maintenance hours increase, increased data extract capacity, maintenance for new developments, data extract support/training, for a total increase of $155,000.00. This request is a recurring need. No additional funding is being requested.
The Office of The Tax Assessor request to add vendor Georgia Multiple Listing to the FY2023 AML list. This was mistakenly omitted from the FY23 AML. No additional funding is being requested.
The Superior Court Administration request to add vendor Reconnect, Inc. to the FY2023 AML list. This was mistakenly omitted from the FY23 AML. No additional funding is being requested.
NON-AGENCY SPECIAL ELECTIONS RESERVE:
STRATEGIC PRIORITY AREA: OPEN AND RESPONSIBLE GOVERNMENT
• Registration and Elections - (PAGE 5)
Increase the FY2023 Budget for Registration and Elections (Special Election May 16, 2023) - $639,581.
The Department of Registration & Elections requests a budget increase of $639,581 for conducting the special election for House District 68 on May 16, 2023.
Per the Executive Order by the Governor of Georgia dated March 17, 2023, a special election is to be conducted for House District 68 in the Georgia House of Representatives as a result of the vacancy due to the passing of Representative Letitia “Tish” Naghise. The special election is to be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
Transfer amount from Non-Agency Special Elections Reserve - $639,581
• Registration and Elections - (PAGE 6)
Increase the FY2023 Budget for Registration and Elections (Run-Off June 13, 2023) - $309,817.
The Department of Registration & Elections requests a budget increase of $309,817 for the possible Run-Off on June 13, 2023 pending the results of the Special Election for House District 68 on May 16, 2023.
Per the Executive Order by the Governor of Georgia dated March 17, 2023, a special election is to be conducted for House District 68 in the Georgia House of Representatives as a result of the vacancy due to the passing of Representative Letitia “Tish” Naghise. The special election is to be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. If there is a run-off election, it would be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.
