Fulton County was created in 1853, by the Georgia General Assembly, and is the most populous County governmental jurisdiction in the State of Georgia. The County provides a range of services to more than 920,000 residents, employs a workforce of approximately 5557 employees, and operates on an annual budget that exceeds $900 million. The County is governed by a seven (7) member Board of Commissioners, five (5) elected by geographic district and two (2) elected county-wide, including the Chairman.
