Summary & Background On September 18, 2024, the Board of Commissioners approved agenda item 24-0599 for 24RFP050124C-MH (Vision), Employee Healthcare Benefit Plan with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (MetLife), to administer vision benefits on a self-insured basis to eligible employees, retirees, beneficiaries and their covered dependents.

When the agreements were forwarded to the County, the agreement for Vision had a different name than what was presented and approved by the Board of Commissioners.  On December 19, 2024, the County representatives confirmed with MetLife the correct contracting entity.  The MetLife legal rep confirmed this delay in providing the signed contract back would not delay the start of services effective January 1, 2025.
