Request approval of a Memorandum of Understanding between Fulton County and Norfolk Southern Police Department for the provision of the Digital 800 MHz Radio System Access. The MOU is from July 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024, with five (3) automatic renewals commencing on January 1 of each successive year, ending December 31, 2027. Request approval to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Norfolk Southern Police Department, which provides policing for its corporation, which is a provider of rail transport services and authorized to do business in the State of Georgia. It is desirable to have a unified system to include entities on the County System that affect and further the goal of protecting the citizens of Fulton County's health, safety, and welfare, and provides public safety services to the citizens of Fulton County.
Norfolk Southern Police Department will pay the pro rata share for fiscal year 2024 (July-December), $417.00 multiplied by the number of radio units of 16, which equals a cost of $2,780.00 ($556.00 per month).
