Summary & Background (First sentence includes Agency recommendation. Provide an executive summary of the action that gives an overview of the relevant details for the item.)

O.C.G.A. §§ 15-18-14(a)(1)-(2) limits the number of Assistant District Attorneys whose salaries are paid by the State; and pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 15-18-19(e)(6), the Board of Commissioners of Fulton County has been authorized to supplement those state salaries.

Effective January 1, 2016, pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 15-18-10, any supplement by Fulton County to either the District Attorney or those Assistant District Attorneys paid by the State shall not exceed $50,000.  Further, said supplements must be approved by the Board of Commissioners.

Accordingly, the District Attorney of the Atlanta Judicial Circuit seeks the Board of Commissioners’ approval in regards to this Resolution, which will authorize her to supplement state-paid Assistant District Attorneys’ salaries up to the statutory amount of $50,000.
