Scope of Work: The Marshal's Department is requesting approval to replace its 2012-2015 TASER model fleet of 60 X26 TASER CEW units (one for one trade-in) with the current TASER 7 model. The CEW (conducted-electrical weapon) deploys an electrical probe designed to temporarily incapacitate a person from a safer distance that some other use of force options and reduces the likelihood of death or serious injury. The Marshal's Department began initial purchase of TASER CEW units in 2012 to its current 60 unit inventory in 2015 - as annual budget allowances supported procurement at department level thresholds.
