Request approval to enter into a contract with Dr. Fredric Hellman to provide part time, intermittent Board Certified Forensic Pathology Autopsy Services to the Medical Examiner’s Office. Dr. Hillman will replace Dr. Ryan McCormick: Ref. BOC 20-0333 and 21-0011. This is not a request for funding. The daily rate of $2,000.00 per day for 7 days per month (as needed) will be funded with salary savings from the vacant associate ME position. Effective date: June 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021. (APPROVED UPON ADOPTION OF THE CONSENT AGENDA).

The Medical Examiner’s office accreditation status necessitates a reliance upon part-time and intermittent services provided by independent contractors, in the interim of filling vacant positions, to address peak workloads, unexpected emergencies, service needs that are sporadic or unpredictable in nature, and to ensure compliance with the National Association of Medical Examiners’ accreditation standards.
