Scope of Work: On January 1, 2021 the Board of Commissioners approved agenda item BOC #21-0069 to provide Technical Consulting Services.  This request is amend the existing contract to provide professional services to assist County management with the design and implementation of the Court Backlog Project (“Project ORCA”) to reduce the accumulation of cases caused by COVID-19.  The Consultant will perform the following high-level tasks to support program success:

 

§                     Managing and distributing budget allocations to all applicable divisions;

§                     Facilitating the recruitment, hiring and on-boarding of personnel;

§                     Implementing safe and efficient processes for court services and case resolution; and

§                     Providing reports and status to County management and the public on the status of Project ORCA

 

Community Impact: COVID -19 had a significant impact on the Fulton County Court system.  The backlog reduction project will have a significant impact on thousands of Fulton County citizens. 

 

Department Recommendation:  Recommend approval

 

Project Implications: This project coordinates and manages the successful implementation of court backlog reduction. CHeckrein Consulting serves as the project manager and court interface for the backlog project.  It cannot happen without their involvement.
