Summary & Background

ESG grant funds are used for street outreach, emergency shelter, homelessness prevention, rapid rehousing assistance, Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), and Fulton County administrative activities.

Fulton County released the ESG 20 Competitive Grant Application on September 11, 2020, and on November 4, 2020, the BOC approved (#20-0779) seven contract recommendations totaling $308,286.00. Two of the vendors have requested the termination of their contracts, totaling $100,000.  Fifty thousand ($50,000) will be reallocated to new contracts with the Community Assistance Center and North Fulton Community Charities.  The balance will be released through a competitive ESG 2021 grant application process.

Scope of Work: Approve the recommendation to enter into MOUs with the Community Assistance Center and North Fulton Community Charities for the use of ESG 20 grant funds.

Community Impact: ESG funding will help the County provide additional services for its low and moderate income citizens.

Department Recommendation: Approve the requested action.

Project Implications: Approval of the use of ESG funds will increase the Community Development Department’s ability to provide homeless services to Fulton County citizens who reside outside of Atlanta.
