Scope of Work: Pursuant to Public Law 117-2 (the American Rescue Plan Act) of 2021, Title II, Subtitles G (Public Health Investment) and H (Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder), funds may be used for public health and wellness related services and programs. American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Health and Wellness funding will support the delivery of essential community services to Fulton County residents disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and its economic consequences.

 

Community Impact: Funds will increase engagement for programs and services related to chronic disease prevention and treatment, behavioral health, other medical conditions, and related wellness services. Additionally, behavioral health services will include the treatment and support for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and substance abuse.

 

Department Recommendation: The Department of Community Development request approval of the 2022 American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Health and Wellness Evaluation Committee recommendations in the amount of $974,335.00.

 

Project Implications: The expenditure of $974,335.00 in Federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding for Health and Wellness was presented to the Fulton County Board of Commissioners at the October 6, 2021 Regular Meeting (Agenda item# 21-0758).
