Request approval of a Resolution authorizing the adoption of the 2022 Fulton County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan. State and Federal laws require that this plan must be updated every five years and subsequently adopted by each municipality, as well as the County, to be eligible to apply for federal grant funds that are used to reduce or eliminate the long-term risk to human life and property in the aftermath of a Presidentially declared disaster. (APPROVED UPON ADOPTION OF THE CONSENT AGENDA)

Scope of Work: In 2004, the Atlanta-Fulton County Emergency Management Agency (AFCEMA), in partnership with our local municipalities, developed its first Hazard Mitigation Plan in accordance with the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000. As required by law, the plan must be updated every five years and it must be adopted by each municipality, as well as the County, in order to be eligible to apply for grant funds that reduce or eliminate the long-term risk to human life and property in the aftermath of a Presidentially declared disaster.
