SUMMARY & BACKGROUND
The Department recommends approval. Senior Services applied for continuation grant funding for its AmeriCorps Senior Companion Program in 2024 for $304k annum for three years. Thirty-five (35) senior volunteers will address social isolation by providing social support and companionship to 100 seniors throughout Fulton County. AmeriCorps requires its grantees to provide three insurance coverages for volunteers: personal liability, accident, and excess automobile insurance. The Risk Manager secured a provider of all three required insurances through CIMA. The Department of Senior Services requests approval for the Finance Department to enter into a renewal of the contract with CIMA World, Inc. to broker insurance for AmeriCorps senior volunteers.
Community Impact: Senior Volunteers receive required coverage to participate in the AmeriCorps Senior Companion program.
Department Recommendation: The Department of Senior Services recommends approval.
Project Implications: Approval enables the Department of Senior Services to provide required coverage for senior volunteers.
