SUMMARY & BACKGROUND: Juvenile Court recommends acceptance of DIVAS proposal to provide the Strengthening Families Program. The Fulton County Family Treatment Court - HOPE is one of two Accountability Court Programs offered at the Court. HOPE Program participants are court-involved adult females with a history of substance abuse and trauma who are parents/caregivers of a child or children and who have an open Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) case in assessment and/or Family Preservation. HOPE participants reside in Fulton County, Georgia, and are required to participate actively in substance abuse treatment as directed by the substance abuse treatment provider and the Court. To be eligible for this program, the participant must not exhibit violent behavior and must have expressed a desire to maintain or obtain custody of their child(ren).
