In accordance with Purchasing Code Section 102-420, contract modifications within the scope of the contract and necessary for contract completion of the contract, in the specifications, services, time of performance or terms and conditions of the contract shall be forwarded to the Board of Commissioners for approval.

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND The Department of Senior Services recommends approval to increase the spending authority for Mutual Meadows. This is based on the expected budget shortfall and increased monthly burial costs for 2023.
Scope of Work: Mutual Meadows provides interment and cremation services for the indigent including cemetery plots, furnishing of gravesites, cement vault, opening and closing of grave sites, lowering services, cremation, and interment of cremains and perpetual care. This is done pursuant to O.C.G.A ? 36-12-5, which requires the governing authority of the county wherein indigent deaths occur to make available from county funds a sum sufficient to provide a decent interment or cremation of deceased indigent persons.
